We all know that Rey Mysterio is from San Diego, California, and what a better way to have him return than to have in return in his home crowd?! Rey will be appearing at next week’s SmackDown taping, which will be taped July 17, 2012 and aired on July 20, 2012. HOWEVER, whatever Rey does will most likely be for the LIVE CROWD and not those watching SmackDown.

Despite this appearance, Rey has yet to be advertised for any live events and will most likely make his grand return at the 1000th Raw on July 23.

Update: Rey Mysterio is being advertised by the Valley View Casino Center, aka where SmackDown will take place in San Diego. They posted “The Big Show to take on John Cena and San Diego’s own Rey Mysterio” and “See the Return of San Diego’s Own Rey Mysterio!”

As of now, the internal rumor going on regarding Rey Mysterio is that he might wrestle at WrestleMania 28, but against who? Well, it’s being said that Rey might fill the last spot in the 12-Man tag match that is scheduled for WrestleMania. The 12-Man Tag Match of course deals with the John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long storyline to see who will be the permanent general manager for WWE television. It’s being said that if Rey does appear, he’ll be taking the last spot on Team Long. Also, it’s being said that the spot would be filled by either him or a returning Evan Bourne. Of course this is just a rumor, and Rey has yet to be cleared to compete.

In your opinion, would you like to see Rey wrestle at WrestleMania or would you prefer an appearance?
I, personally, prefer an appearance as I don’t want to see Rey thrown in a random match and I don’t want him back until he wants to be back, himself.

Once again, the rumor mills are a-turning! This time, Rey Mysterio is the latest in the “WWE is Negative on ___” rumor. And yes, you read right. “WWE is Negative on Rey Mysterio,” not positive. Rumor has it that when Rey visited Raw this past Monday in San Diego, WWE officials only had BAD things to say about Rey. But why?! Hasn’t Rey poured his heart and soul into the company? Reasons why officials are mad is because WWE believes Rey takes too long to heal from his injuries that he received in the WWE Ring. WWE wants him to return early, but he wants to take the time to heal. Also, WWE has said that there are tough contract negotiations going on with him. Also, it was said that “some feel because of his small stature, he’s lucky to be employed to WWE.”

Whether this is a rumor or a real fact, I believe it’s safe to say that the 619ers are ticked off. Rey is a great in-ring worker and outside personality. However, we are unaware of the politics that goes on behind the WWE scenes.

It was reported earlier that Rey Mysterio was seen entering the arena that Monday Night Raw is taking place in San Diego, California tonight! Of course, Rey being from San Diego is why he is backstage.

No news on whether he will appear on television, but I’m sure he will appear one way or another for the live crowd in attendance. Perhaps we’ll see him in a backstage segment? Just because he’s on Raw does not mean he is scheduled to return - he is still taking his injury leave.

Like I guessed, the whole “Rey Mysterio might return an the Royal Rumble rumor can probably be nixed because in his latest video, Rey discusses the fact that he can hardly jog on a treadmill. However, Rey does say that he is looking for a WrestleMania return, something that I’ve been posting since Day 1 of his injury. Apparently, not only the fans want Rey to return at WrestleMania, so does WWE. Also, it’s being said that if he does return, WWE might keep him off television until after the PPV.

Did you just read correctly? “Is Rey Mysterio returning at the 2012 Royal Rumble?!” Say what? Apparently, one of the biggest rumors on the internet is that our boy, Rey Mysterio will be returning soon. The reason that sparked this rumor is that the “Johnny Dare Morning Show,” a radio show was hyping up Rey Mysterio for an appearance on their radio show on January 30th, 2012. Prior to announcing Rey, the host said that they’ll have Rey in the studio just “one night after he performed in the Royal Rumble match.”

Do you believe it? To be honest, I doubt it’s true and well, I hope it isn’t! As much as I would love to see Rey wrestle again, I want him to be 150% before entering the ring. If he does enter the Rumble, then he would only be out for five months, two months less than expected. Honestly, I wouldn’t look too much into this rumor, as Rey himself wants to heal well before wrestling again.

Everyone is wondering, “will Rey Mysterio return in time for WrestleMania 28?” Well, the only person who knows that is Rey himself, and the rumor is that he doesn’t believe so. Unlike other superstars who are rushing their injuries in time for WrestleMania, it’s being said that Rey is taking the time to heal up to be 150% by the time of his in-ring return. Right now, the expected time slot for Rey is May, but keep in mind this is a RUMOR and plans do CHANGE.

My input: I believe it is truly fabulous that Rey is taking the necessary time. He misses WrestleMania? So what! His health is far more important than anything else, and I’m super glad that he knows that. Also, it’s being said that even if Rey can’t wrestle, WWE would want him to appear anyway.

Again, this is a rumor!

Rey Mysterio hasn’t been on WWE television since late August 2011. However, rumor mill has it that Rey will be back on WWE television for Tribute of the Troops which air Tuesday, December 13. Hopefully, Rey will be there because boy, oh boy do we need him on our television screens! Again, this is just a RUMOR, but hopefully it holds some truth.

While Rey Mysterio is getting surgery THIS Friday, both he (apparently) and others believe that Rey Mysterio tore his ACL. An ACL tear is huge and impacts your ability to walk and can be extremely painful. The minimum timeframe for this surgery is at least six months of out-of-ring action and it usually takes eight months, sometimes a year to feel like yourself again. People backstage believe that Rey Mysterio won’t be able to come back until AFTER Wrestle Mania, possibly missing Wrestle Mania 28 which is 8 months away. Honestly? The only person who knows the real time frame is Rey Mysterio himself. Of course, let’s hope that Rey comes back when HE feels he’s ready for in-ring action.

Right now, the only thing we can do as fans is wish him and his family the best and keep him in our thoughts and prayers. ^_^

We all know now that Rey Mysterio’s knee is hurting, and it’s hurting bad. We also know that Rey got an MRI done and is currently in the process of fixing his injury. What is now known is that Rey (this being a rumor, of course) will go through months of rehabilitating his knee and will be putting off surgery. The latest rumor is that Rey might get a full knee replacement surgery perhaps. All in all, the ONLY thing us 619ers can do is pray that Rey will be alright and wish him and his family the best.
