The Undertaker defeated Rey Mysterio to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

Rey Mysterio VS Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship is before the rumble. Before the match, a sweet package is shown.

Rey Mysterio comes out first, dressed in white and yellow, and gets a pretty good match. This is his chance, to once again, become World Heavyweight Champion.

The men are announced, and surprisingly, Rey gets a few boos ! Undertaker gets nothing but chants. The match starts, and Rey begins kicking the Undertaker, and using his agility to his advantage. Both men end up outside, and Taker has gained control. Back in the ring, the men are battling it out. Rey begins flying, only to be brought down by Taker.

Rey rolls out of the ring, followed by Undertaker. Rey gets up, only for a boot by Taker. Rey then gets up again, and Taker goes for another big boot, but, he gets his leg caught in the ring post, and Rey goes in the ring, and kicks it !

After some more battling, Taker picks up Rey, but Rey goes onto the apron, and does a nice moonsault ! The ref is counting out, and Rey goes in the ring, and breaks the count. Taker follows, and Rey slides out, and then is thrown by Taker into the barricade. He gets thrown into the ring from undertaker after, and lands a two count. Taker starts working on Reys shoulders and arms, and then threw him into the top rope. Taker just keeps working on Mysterio’s arms, and is just manhandling Rey. Taker then goes for a pin, but once again, only gets a two count. Rey goes on his feet, and begins kicking Taker, only to be brought down again by Taker. However, Rey starts battling back ! And is reversing everything, and throwing some of his own moves out. After, Rey gets a nice kick in the face of Taker, and flies off the top rope ! 1-2, kick out at two from the Undertaker !

Rey starts gaining control ! He’s punching Taker, and goes off the top rope, only for Taker to bring him back down. Taker picks Rey up, and goes for the last ride, but Mysterio kicks Taker into the ropes ! AND LANDS THE 619 ! HE LANDS IT ! THEN HE KICKS UNDERTAKER INTO ANOTHER 619 ! AND LANDS IT ! THEN REY GOES FOR THE WEST COAST POP ! BUT, he gets caught, and connects. 1-2-3. Undertaker still reigns supreme :/

Rey Mysterio VS. Shawn Michaels ended in a no contest.

DX opens up SmackDown! and after their entrance, Triple H couldn’t even get a full sentence in before Rey Mysterio comes out. Rey goes and says that Shawn Michaels doesn’t respect Mysterio, and that he thinks Mysterio won’t be able to beat Undertaker. Michaels said that is what he thinks, and then he asks why Mysterio is getting in his face. Triple H cracks on Mysterio’s height, saying he’s looking for a fight, but Hornswoggle isn’t here tonight. Then, Mysterio said that was a good joke, but here’s a better one. He said he’ll beat the Undertaker unlike the other two. Then, Michaels asks what if he doesn’t make it to the rumble, and then Mysterio asks Michaels the same question, and tells him they can take care of their ‘problem’ tonight, only for the Straight Edge Society come out.

Punk goes and confronts Mysterio about his past addiction, and tells Mysterio that the match isn’t happening, because they are facing DX for the tag team titles, and that the Society are making their mark. Then, DX and the Society talk it out, with some cracks on one another. Teddy Long comes out, and says that things are changing up, and that Punk + Gallows aren’t getting their title matches, but instead, it will be Rey Mysterio VS. Shawn Michaels !

Rey Mysterio comes out first, to a HUGE pop. He also debuts a new shirt design, (click to purchase) The match begins once Shawn enters, and they jump right into it. HBK first gains control, and backhands Rey in the chest a few times. Rey then gets tossed out of the ring, and when he’s back in, he sets up Michaels for 619 ! But, HBK knows what was coming, and runs out o the ring. When he comes back, Rey got a knee to the gut from Michaels, and got a few more back hands, until Rey escaped, and started battling back ! Then, HBK reversed again, and Rey, with a giant red mark, goes out of the ring, only for HBK to keep backhanding him in the chest.

HBK still has control, and after wards, gets caught in the ropes, for the 619, but he knows what is coming, and goes for Sweet Chin Music ! Rey knows, and misses his foot, and then brings Michaels outside of the ring ! During the break, Mysterio gains control ! He starts punching HBK, kicks him, and doing damage to the leg of Shawn Michaels. Michaels gets up, and is now limping, and begins backhanding Rey, again. HBK takes control, and sends Rey into the corner, only for Rey to reverse, goes off the top rope, only for Michaels to slap Rey’s foot away, and cause him to get hung up in the ropes.

• In 2003, Rey’s first Rumble, he picked the number 4, and lasted 5 minutes, and 55 seconds. He was eliminated by Chris Jericho. (5:55)
• In 2004, Rey Mysterio defeated Jamie Noble for the Cruiserweight Title.
• In 2005, Rey Mysterio picked the number 8, and lasted 38:25, and was eliminated by Edge.
• In 2006, Rey Mysterio picked the number 2, and lasted 1:02:12. He was also the winner !
• In 2008, Rey Mysterio took on Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, only to loose.
• In 2009, Rey Mysterio picked the first number, (1) and lasted 49:24, and was eliminated by The Big Show.
• Rey Mysterio holds the record for the longest time in the ring during the rumble with a time frame of 1:02:12.

This Sunday night, January 31, Rey Mysterio will take on The Undertaker for a chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Make sure you tune in to the Royal Rumble to see your favorite high flyer once again, defy the odds, and come out on top ! (:

Yesterday, January 24, Rey Mysterio had a signing at K-Mart. If you purchased $35+ worth of merchandise, you were able to meet the High flying Superstar. However, Rey arrived late and had to sadly leave early because he had to leave for the WWE Live Event. It is said that when Mysterio was leaving, a lot of fans were rushing up to him, and when people did not meet him, they were asking for refunds. The event seemed to lack order.

Here are the House Show results from a few nights ago.

January 23, 2010 – Rey Mysterio and Kane defeated Chris Jericho and CM Punk (w/ Luke Gallows)
In Hammond, Indiana, Mysterio and Kane teamed up together to defeat Jericho and Punk. Before the match, Jericho and Punk complimented one another, and Rey told Jericho he should shave his head to show the love Jericho has for Punk. The match was said to be a really good and fun main event, and there was a lot of high points. Mysterio got on Kane’s shoulder and hit a splash. Later, when Mysterio was in trouble, Kane tagged in, as well as Punk, only for Punk to trip over the ropes, and Jericho laughed in his corner ! Later on, Rey got a double 619 in, and Kane got a choke slam to win it all.

Rey Mysterio calls out The Undertaker
After the first match of the night, there is a package shown when Rey Mysterio takes his first step of winning the World Heavyweight Championship – entering the Royal Rumble at Number 2, and defeating Randy Orton, Number 30, to go on to Wrestlemania !

Later on, a package from Wrestlemania 22 was shown – when Rey Mysterio won his first World Heavyweight Championship ! It showed him defeated Kurt Angel, and Randy Orton ! The package showed the giant grin Rey had on his face.

Rey comes out to a pretty good pop, and greets his fans ! Rey is only a few seconds to confront his opponent, The Undertaker. Rey said that he’s been in the back all night, and he’s heard that people are wondering why Rey would be so stupid to call the Undertaker. He just said, that four years ago was when he won with his first and ONLY World Heavyweight Championship ; and it was a dream come true. But the one in between , was the Undertaker.

Rey says that he wants to tell the Undertaker, to his face, eye to eye, that he’s not afraid of him. Rey then calls him out, and the bells begin to chime. Undertaker makes it to the ring, and as soon as the Undertaker is near Rey, you can see a visible height difference. Undertaker stares at Rey, and asks if Rey is having second thoughts. Rey said he’d be lying, if he said he wasn’t, but he’s standing his ground. Rey told him last time they competed, there wasn’t an ounce of fear in Rey’s eyes. And this time, HBK or Batista won’t be there, and Rey tells everyone Shawn might win the Royal Rumble, but Taker’ won’t be champion, and that match won’t happen.

Rey Mysterio will be featured on the cover of the February 2010 issue ! WWE.com has posted a video with him in the photo shoot. They are using something different, and it’s by having wings incorporated into the shoot. Rey said that the wings are because there is no evil surrounding him, and because he lies in the ring. The photographer and photo editor said it was great to work with him, and the photos will turn out great.
