For those who watched WrestleMania XXVI last night, might of noticed the beginning of Rey’s match seemed odd. Once CM Punk finished his promo, Rey’s music hit the arena, but Rey didn’t. Michael Cole when on to say that “Rey must be playing mind games with Punk !” That was not the case however. Rey was actually supposed to come out through a trap door, and was going to be shot through the air. Something like the entrance at SummerSlam 2007. However, there was an error, and Rey had to crawl out of the door instead, which was not shown on camera.

Rey Mysterio defeated Cm Punk with the Straight Edge Society !
CM Punk comes out first and begins to cut a promo. He goes on to say that over 70 Thousand people think drugs will make their problems go away. He calls himself the savior to all. He goes to say that HE chose to be drug free. That Rey doesn’t have a choice. That he will have to join the Straight Edge Society. Rey then comes out, dressed as one of the characters from Avatar !
The Match begins. Gallows and Serena begin playing mind games by hopping on and off the apron. Punk then takes control by that. Rey then hops onto the rope, only to be brought down by Punk. The Ref has his back towards Rey, and Deeb takes a cheap shot at Rey. Rey is hung up on the ropes still, and then Punk goes to attack, but misses and lands out of the ring. Mysterio follows, onlt to be caught by Punk and slammed into the steps. Punk goes back into the ring, and the ref reaches 9 before Rey Mysterio enters back ! Back in the ring, Punk goes for a cover, only for Rey to kick out. He then goes for a submission move, but Rey kicks himself out, and gets on the apron ! He jumps off the rope, and lands a West Coast Pop ! He then jumps off the rope again and goes for a crossbody ! Only for Punk to catch Rey, and land a nearfall. Rey gets up, and then goes for a kick, only for Punk to know it’s coming and get caught in a near fall. 1,2. Mysterio kicks out ! Then Punk keeps covering Rey for the pin, but Rey keeps kicking out ! Mysterio then manages to get up, hops on the rope, and does a nifty backflip/moonsault ! Goes for the cover, Punk kicks out at two !
Back up, Rey sets up the 619 ! He goes, and Punk catches him. Then, he puts Rey into the GTS, but Rey fights ! Rey then goes for a sweet moonsault, but instead gets caught into the GTS !He then kicks out and hops on the top rope ! He pays tribute to the late and GREAT Eddie Guerrero, and goes for a Flog Splash, but no one is home ! Punk then takes control, and goes for a cover on Rey. 1-2, Rey kicks out ! Punk then backs Mysterio up to to the ring post, and lands some high knees. Back on the mat, Rey then sets Punk up for the 619 ! Serena then hops on the apron, so Rey cannot connect. Rey goes to the other side, and Gallows is on the apron ! Punk grabs Mysterio for the GTS, but Rey counters, and sets him up for the 619, headbutting Gallows off the apron ! Rey connects the 619 ! Huge splash ! 1-2-3 ! Rey Mysterio wins ! Now he does NOT have to join the Straight Edge Society !

“Beating Tyson Kidd was huge for The Master of the 619 as now he can be riding high despite the unfavorable interactions he has had to push his way through in recent weeks involving the Straight Edge Society.”
Recently, Rey Mysterio answered tons of questions on a live chat. Here is a small sample:
Q: Who are your favorite tag partners?
RM: John Morrison is definitely one of them. R Truth is one of them. Edge is another one. I wish Jeff Hardy is still here … I would love to tag with Matt Hardy. I could keep going.
It’s a good interview, so if you’d like to continue reading, View the rest of this entry…
In a recent live chat, John Morrison was asked what has been his favorite match that he participated in. Morrison answers with this:
Q:What has your favorite match that you’ve participated in?
Off the top of my head I would say the match I won the intercontinental championship off Rey Mysterio in September 2009. It was one of those matches where Rey is so popular that me vs. him in a singles match made me a little nervous. As soon as you start wrestling Rey, I thought the fans would turn on me. But they didn’t do that — they cheered for me and they cheered for Rey. They were cheering because it was a really good match. And if you’re interested in seeing that match, that match is the last match on the John Morrison Rock Star DVD.
If you’d like to view the whole chat, you can view it here.
In a recent interview hyping up WrestleMania 26 and his character, CM Punk spoke with the Phoenix New Times. Within the interview, Punk was asked about his match with Mysterio this Sunday, and the past. This is what Punk said about Mysterio:
NT: Rey Mysterio is an extremely talented cat. Is he a good partner to work with in the ring?
CM: Yeah, I think me and Rey have chemistry. I’ve known Rey for…geez, I’m an old man, almost 10 years now. We’ve wrestled a couple times, and we haven’t really been able to showcase exactly what it is we can do. We’ve barely scratched the surface.NT: Will it be better than the match you had against Rey and Eddie Guerrero on the indie circuit in 2002?
CM: I don’t know if it will be better. That one def has a place in my heart, obviously because Eddie was involved. I think it’s a great match that still holds up today.
If you guys want to read the rest of the interview about Punk and his life, you can check it out here. It was great to read Punk break his character for a few moments, to learn about his past with Rey. Make sure you check in this Sunday Night, to watch WrestleMania 26 ! Remember ! If Rey looses against Punk this weekend, he will be FORCED to join Punk and the Straight Edge Society !

As posted a long time ago, the original WrestleMania 26 plans were to have Rey Mysterio face CM Punk in a hair VS. mask match. However, WWE believed that would be too predictable, seeing how Rey hasn’t been maskless in the WWE, and fans would know Punk would loose.
Another was to have CM Punk turn Rey’s children against him. He would befriend them, and then slowly turn them against their father. The plan was to see something like the Sandman-Raven feud in the ORIGINAL ECW. But, since WWE is now in the ‘pg era’ they didn’t go through. Another was for Punk to cut off all of Aalyah’s hair. Which was also thrown out.
Since the feud is going well, WWE wants to extend the Punk VS. Mysterio feud. However, Rey really needs surgery, and was going to take time out after the Grandest Show of All, for necessary knee surgery, but at the way the feud is turning out, he might not.
Rey Mysterio will be appearing at WrestleMania Axxess ! So any one in the Arizona area should definitely go meet and chat with Rey ! Rey was originally going to appear with Sheamus, however, it looks like he will now be working with Chris Jericho. View the old post.
