Jim Ross took to his site to post a wrestling blog like he always does. In his latest blog, he mentioned Rey Mysterio and his recent surgery. Ross said:
Get well wishes to Rey Mysterio who had knee surgery in San Diego this past Friday. Rey had ACL and MCL issues addressed and will be out of action for several months. This is the same knee that Rey has had multiple surgeries so his rehabilitation work will be even more magnified and important.

Okay…I wrote on the comments section below that I should’ve never looked this crap up. The bone spurs seem like nothing after reading about the PCL injury alone. The internet says they rarely operate on it because of its location, unless it’s a grade 3 (there are three grades of injury???). Apparently, Rey’s was the worst of the three, obviously. AND…now that he’s had both at the same time, damn, I wouldn’t want to be him. And then, I hate to mention it, but I don’t like someone who’s had ANY kind of struggle with painkillers in the past to have to be on them, even though, obviously, they ARE necessary. I’m sure he’s on some pretty good stuff at this point. And I dread rehab for him, just thinking about it. Anyhoo….the surgery went well…please, if you’re a fan of Rey’s, keep his recovery in your prayers. I want him to be healthy. The good news is, that the injuries are not as bad if walking in normal life (pretty much…you know….), and it did give some good news about successful operations on the PCL, too. Sooooo….Just keep him in your prayers. I know that sometimes, as fans, we live our lives through our heroes. Well…this guy is my hero. He’s a kid who had a dream and lived it beyond his wildest dreams into manhood WHILE acquiring a family at a young age and keeping that together. I know his life is probably not a bed of roses, but it is a testimony to true success, personally and professionally. I pray for his health, his happiness during recovery, the fans to be behind him every step of the way, and for him to have his last hurrah in the ring on his own terms. I can’t bear another “Edge” scenario (2nd favorite wrestler). It just hurts too much to watch a hero be forced out. Anyhoo…For as much happiness as he’s brought my family, I hope our prayers can bring happiness to his. I also hope that when he’s better in recouping, they find a role for him like they did CM Punk to keep him on WWE and relevant. If they’re smart, and they seem to be smarter lately, then they will. There’s no “Hunico” to replace Rey Mysterio. He’s the one and only.
Oh, and my husband has a dinner coming up, and one of the supporters of the university he works for is a knee surgeon. LOL. I’m gonna talk his ear off about ACL’s, PCL’s, bone spurs and the like. I knew I liked those board of director dinners for a reason.
